              Sea Marks Performed

On Sunday, February 19, 2012, the play, Sea Marks by Gardner McKay, will be performed at EAC at 3:00pm. This reading will feature Richard and Mindy Gullen from the coffee shop here in Eastport. Winner of L.A. Drama Critics Circle Best Play Award, this is the touching story of a fisherman living on a remote Irish island who has fallen in love with a woman he's glimpsed only once. Unschooled in letter writing, he tries his utmost to court by mail and after a year and a half succeeds in arranging a rendezvous at which, to his surprise, she persuades him to live with her in Liverpool. Can a fisherman from a small village find happiness in the city?

The performance is part of the Sunday Afternoon series provided by Eastport Arts Center during the winter months from January through April.  The shows range from poetry readings and lecturers to musical programs and staged readings.  Entrance is free but donations are accepted to help with heating costs and other expenses.

PRIATE FESTIVAL: 2011      This year Stage East reached out and joined the pirates to stage The Tryal of Ann Bonney and Mary Reade.  It was performed on a stage at Overlook Park downtown, and was a great success as well as fun for all.  The cast and crew included: Kristie Conti, Lydia Vaughan, Nancy Tintle, Caityln Stellrecht, Deb Train, Chris Gardner, Kerry L. Jackson, Guilio Tallarico, Dan Butler, Dalton James Young, Reuben Grannis, Frank Brandon Schuth, Chris Grannis, and "Chick" Moore.  Many thanks to Devon Aprile, bringer of a snare drum all the way from Massachusetts and unofficial Stage East photographer for the Tryal of Ann Bonney and Mary Reade! Many thanks to the Pirates of the Dark Rose!  AAARGGHHHH!
